3CX Phone System V8 and later include the functionality to set the TimeZone and DST (Daylight Savings Time) parameters on phones via provisioning. 3CX PhoneSystem is delivered with example pre-configured default values set to EasternTime -5 . To configure 3CX Phone System to deliver correct Time and DST settings to your phones, you will need to adjust the values of some parameters in the Custom Parameters table.
NOTE:
- Time Settings can only be delivered to phones via the provisioning templates.
- To adjust Custom Parameter values, you need to go to the 3CX Management Console, click on “Settings / Advanced” and select the “Custom Parameters” tab.
- Each section below in this article is separated by the major IP Phone models supported. You will see the following structure
- a TABLE containing the available options that are needed to provision time on that particular phone model
- a link to download pdf files Per phone model. These pdf files contain all the available timezones and how to input them in the 3CX Parameter table in a way that these can be interpreted correctly by the phones during provisioning. Different phones expect the timezone in a different manner. For example – to set Easter time for a snom, you would need to enter USA-5. Cisco and Linksys expect it as GMT-05:00. Grandstream phones want a value of 420. All this information can be obtained from here or you can also check the administration guide of your phone model.
